Big idea: Equations can run backwards and forwards, and usually do. Equilibrium is when they come to a stable state, with products and reactants no longer changing.
1. Warm-up: on board (see warm-up notebooklet)
2. Collect homework; assign new homework
3. Intro. to equilibrium: Equations can run forwards and backwards.
4. Equilibrium lab: Straw Equilibrium
Homework: 1. QP explanation to someone due Jan. 14th. QP improvements AND extension due Jan. 14th. Final draft, all typed, due Jan. 28th. GET IT IN EARLY FOR EXTRA CREDIT! 2. CST worksheet on equilibrium done (all sections except thermodynamics done).
